Mandarin Ad Dubbing
Mandarin ad dubbing for mainland China and Taiwan
We convert your existing ad film into broadcast-ready Mandarin Chinese. The original talent appears to speak Mandarin in their own voice, lip movement is re-animated to the new dialogue, and native speakers review every cut before broadcast-standards delivery, with mainland, Taiwan and Singapore variants produced as the media plan requires.
The Mandarin Chinese market
Mandarin reaches more than a billion speakers across mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore, the largest single-language audience in the world. The markets differ in more than accent: script systems, platform ecosystems, regulatory expectations and advertising conventions all diverge, so a Mandarin campaign is really a choice of which Mandarin market to speak to, and the version should be built for that answer.
Dialect and register
Standard Mandarin with mainland pronunciation and simplified-character supers for the mainland, Taiwanese Mandarin with traditional characters for Taiwan, and Singapore Mandarin conventions for Singapore. Tone and delivery style also shift between these markets, and we cast the driving voice performance accordingly.
Proven pipeline, applied to Mandarin Chinese
Mandarin delivery runs on the pipeline proven across more than 100 broadcast-ready ads and over 500 million views in India's multilingual market, another environment of massive scale and internal variation. On-screen text is re-set in simplified or traditional characters to match the target market in the finishing pass.
How a version gets made
- Locked master in. You supply the final source edit and tone guidance. No reshoot, no new footage.
- Native performance, cloned voice. A native voice actor performs the adapted dialogue, and a cloned model of the original talent re-voices that performance so the star speaks the language in their own voice.
- Re-animation and broadcast QC. Our Lipsmatch visual dubbing technology re-animates the lip movement frame by frame to the new dialogue, native speakers review every cut, and the film is finished to broadcast standards up to 4K.
FAQ
Do mainland China and Taiwan need different versions?
Yes. Pronunciation, everyday vocabulary and delivery style differ audibly, and on-screen text diverges completely between simplified and traditional characters. Both versions come from the same source master, and each is adapted, cast and reviewed for its own market.
Does the lip re-animation handle Mandarin's tones?
Tones live in the voice performance, and the re-animation is generated from that actual performed audio, so the visible articulation follows what a native speaker genuinely does. Native reviewers confirm both the spoken naturalness and the visual match before delivery.
Do you also localise the on-screen text and supers?
Yes. Titles, supers and end cards are re-set in simplified or traditional characters as appropriate to the market, with typography chosen for broadcast legibility, so the delivered film is complete rather than audio-only localised.
Can one Mandarin version serve Singapore as well?
Singapore campaigns usually run their own conventions, closer to mainland pronunciation with local vocabulary and simplified characters, and often alongside English. We advise per media plan, and the incremental cost of a Singapore-specific pass from the same master is modest.
