The Software Practice
We build the platforms people live inside
A software firm, first
Before the award-winning films and the AI pipelines, Insanely Elegant was an engineering house. For over a decade we’ve designed and shipped the products people spend their days inside: music and movie streaming services, e-commerce storefronts, fleet-scale logistics networks, CRMs and social platforms.
One senior team carries a build from product design through APIs, apps and infrastructure to launch and operations. No hand-offs between agencies, no gaps between the deck and the deployed system. The people who design it are the people who run it in production.
Don’t read about it.
Watch it run.
Six kinds of platform we engineer, each staged as a living product: playback that plays, carts that fill, fleets that move, deals that close. Pick a platform, or open its dedicated practice page. Every number on screen is illustrative product data.. Tap one for the engineering behind it, then open its live demo on the dedicated practice page.
Live interactive previews of the platforms we engineer. Every screen responds to your clicks. All data shown is illustrative.
Six practices,
one engineering culture
Each domain has its own physics: licensing windows, payment flows, routing constraints, moderation queues. We’ve built in all six, so the first conversation starts past the basics.
Music Streaming
Players people keep open all day, and the catalog machinery behind them.
Movie Streaming
OTT services end to end: from mezzanine file to a play button on every screen.
E-commerce
Storefronts that convert, and the order machinery that keeps the promise.
Logistics
Control towers for fleets: live telemetry in, optimised routes and clean manifests out.
CRM & Revenue Ops
Pipelines your team actually uses, wired into everything they already touch.
Social Platforms
Feeds, graphs and conversations that stay fast, and safe, as communities grow.
How a build runs
Five stages, each with a named owner and a visible artefact. You always know what exists, what’s next and what it costs.
Discover
Domain deep-dive, users, constraints and the metric the platform must move.
Artefact: scoped brief & architecture sketch
Design
Product design and system design together, so the interface and the architecture never argue.
Artefact: clickable prototype & tech plan
Build
Weekly shippable increments on a real staging environment, not screenshots of progress.
Artefact: working software, every week
Ship
Hardening, load tests, security review and a rehearsed, reversible launch.
Artefact: production launch & runbook
Run
Monitoring, on-call, cost tuning and a roadmap cadence that keeps shipping.
Artefact: SLOs, dashboards & releases
The stack, by discipline
Boring where boring wins, sharp where it buys speed. We pick per problem, not per fashion, and we’ll defend every choice in the tech plan.
Three ways to work with us
Pick the shape that matches where you are: a product to launch, a team to extend, or a system that needs rescuing.
Fixed-scope build
A defined product, designed, built and launched end to end. One owner, one roadmap, one launch date.
- Product design through production launch
- Weekly demos on a live staging environment
- Handover with docs, tests and runbooks
Embedded squad
A senior pod that plugs into your team and cadence, and ships from week one inside your codebase.
- Your rituals, your tooling, your repo
- Senior engineers only, no pyramid
- Scale the pod up or down by quarter
Rescue & scale
For platforms that creak: we stabilise first, then re-architect what limits you, without stopping the business.
- Audit with a prioritised, costed plan
- Incremental migration, zero big-bang
- Observability & on-call left in place
Non-negotiables
Every platform leaves our hands with the same four properties, whatever the domain.
Automated test suites and load tests gate every release, not just the big ones
Least-privilege access, encrypted data paths and dependency audits from day one
Metrics, traces and alerts wired before launch, so incidents are measured, not guessed
Budgets for latency and page weight, enforced in CI and watched in production

Software questions
What kinds of software does Insanely Elegant build?
Insanely Elegant is a software firm that builds production-grade digital platforms: OTT and video streaming services, music streaming apps, e-commerce stores and marketplaces, logistics and supply-chain systems, CRM platforms, and social products. We take projects from architecture and design through to build, deployment and scaling.
Do you build OTT and streaming platforms?
Yes. Streaming is a core specialty. We build video-on-demand and live OTT platforms and music streaming apps with adaptive bitrate playback, secure DRM-protected delivery, subscription and paywall billing, recommendations, and multi-device apps for web, mobile and TV.
What technologies and stack do you use?
We build with modern, well-supported technology, React and Next.js on the front end, Node.js and Python services on the back end, deployed on cloud infrastructure such as AWS with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines. We choose the stack to fit the product rather than forcing every project through the same template.
Can your platforms scale to millions of users?
Yes. We design for scale from day one using cloud-native, horizontally scalable architectures, auto-scaling, caching and CDN delivery, so the platform stays fast and reliable as traffic grows. Our team also runs GPU-accelerated and high-throughput workloads for media and AI features.
Do you provide ongoing maintenance and support?
Yes. Beyond the initial build we offer ongoing maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning, security updates and new-feature development, so your platform keeps improving after launch rather than going stale.
How long does it take to build a platform?
It depends on scope, but a focused MVP typically takes a few weeks to a couple of months, while a full-featured platform runs longer. We start with a discovery call to define scope and then provide a detailed proposal with timeline and milestones. Email [email protected] to begin.
